My designs
Model 1
This is a very small body, originally designed as a floating bridge jazz guitar. Its not a copy of a Selmer, but is very much influenced by that beautiful shape.
Squat and wide, and sometimes with a lozenge shaped soundhole.
I have also used this body as a 15 fret pin bridge guitar, and more commonly, as a 15 or 16 fret guitar bodied bouzouki. It has become my favoured body for the guitar bouzouki.
Model 2
This is my small body guitar design. A size that I find is just at the meeting point of small and mid size sound… It is loud, fast and clear as a small body should sound, but just big enough to have a full sound to back it up
An elegant hourglass shape, takes a cut away well and still looks nice
Model 3
This is my mid size guitar. Although I feel this size is about ideal for a steel string guitar. It has the depth and complexity from the larger body, as well as the response speed and clarity lacking in a larger body.
It very similar in size to a Martin OM. The main difference being the curve of the body around the bridge area is wider, giving it a wider span at the bridge position than the OM.
over years of experimenting, I’ve found I like the sound I get from this.
I also love the sound of the OM. The Model 3 is an alternate version of this size, and these two designs are my favourites personally.
The model 3 has a narrow upper section to the body, which I like the look of, kind of Art deco/ Arts and crafts. It takes a cut away pretty well, and works with most design options, plain or ornate.
Model 4
This is my standard size guitar. Being 400mm wide at the wide end. The same as a dreadnought.
Its very similar to the model 3 in most respects… expanded to a slightly larger size.
For those players who want a bit more sustain and bass response.
I prefer to make this one with the flat symmetrical bracing pattern, which seems to accentuate the bass and treble over the mid range a bit. That makes it nice for DADGAD and open tunings.
Model 5
This is my jumbo Body, being 435mm wide. Its back to the hourglass shape of my small body guitar.
It works well for a large body sound… lots of sustain and complexity and warmth.
It works well as a 12 string..

Martin models
I love the designs of the Martin guitar company and make several of them. I can do them as a copy of the originals, or my own versions
